Hilliard Children’s Business Fair

As business owners and parents, Pat and I (Emily) feel the need to help kids in our community. There was no easier or more obvious choice then being mentors for two groups of kids participating at the First Annual Children’s Business Fair. The kids I coached, Noah and Jonah, created Silly Soaps and Smiles which cleverly embeds toys within soap to encourage regular hand washing. When we met, the kids needed some help with profit margins so we had a great discussion and some hands on role play to determine fair pricing and margins. Pat’s kids, Ellia and Naven, were experts with their 3d printer and had some very cool merchandise to sell. He met with them and they worked on some soft selling skills.

The business fair took place at Coffee Connections on April 14, 2018. A great time was had by all and quite a few business skills were picked up by the kid business owners.
